YOU WILL LEARN
The course has been designed to meet both your individual creative and professional aspirations with the choice of discipline and non-discipline specific electives and core modules to provide the appropriate foundation for your capstone project.
Core modules are taken by all students regardless of their discipline specialisation. This allows you to not only extend or deepen your speciaised knowledge and / or skills but engage with students from other disciplines to broaden them. Practical based modules underpin the core graduate Masters program (Graduate Studio 1, Graduate Studio 2, Graduate Minor Project and Graduate Major Project). This is supported by parallel research and critical perspective modules (Critical Inquiry, Research in Creative Industry Practice and Creative Industry Perspectives).
Choose to deepen your knowledge and skills within your existing discipline or complement this experience with cross-discipline electives. To compliment your discipline skills, there is a suite of common electives in innovation, entrepreneurship and marketing.
Of your ten electives, one is mandated (The Creative Practitioner) and another is from a selection of entrepreneurial and marketing electives. The other eight electives may be drawn from a wide selection of non-discipline specific and discipline electives.
As an SAE graduate, you will be prepared to take on strategic and leadership roles within the creative industries. You will be aware of new developments and be able to research and troubleshoot trends and opportunities.
You will also have the entrepreneurial and communication skills to take your personal vision to the next stage. The contemporary media environment is complex and exciting. It looks for leaders who are willing and able to explore, test ideas and respond to new possibilities. Your training will have made you a conscious innovator.
You may be eligible for an exit award of Graduate Certificate in Creative Industries or a Graduate Diploma in Creative Industries (non-degree) upon completion of the first trimester or the first two trimesters respectively.
